“Last year’s ‘Dirty Dancing’ show-stopper”
So if you were at Kearney’s inaugural Dancing with the Stars in 2016 you’ll remember the big intro – when “Johnny” (Dillon) caught “Baby” (Alli Kingsley) high above his head on that “Time of your Life” infamous movie-dancing moment. Of course the crowd went wild. Dillon is back with Kearney’s Dancing with the Stars 2, this year as an instructor. Can you believe this guy didn’t start dancing until his first year of college? Dillon graduated from UNK with a degree in the ater performance and now works full-time at Kearney Family YMCA where he still finds time to dance as well as perform on local theatrical productions.
Dancing experience: Theater performance major at UNK
Favorite memory of dancing: “During Crane River Theatre’s ‘Let it Snow,’ while Dayna (DeFilippis) and I were dancing, Dayna was supposed to blow fake snow at me, and ended up throwing a chunk of stuffing at my face.”
Memorable dance achievement: Learning a ballroom dance to “Iris” (Goo Goo Dolls) in two weeks.
Favorite dance style or step: Contemporary ballroom
Least favorite dance style: Country
Go-to dance “move”: The Drunken Giraffe
