Carrie Hofstetter Eighmey joined the Loper coaching staff in 2015 after coaching runs at Hastings College, and at Fort Hays State as an assistant. A native of Edgar, Nebraska, she graduated from Sandy Creek High School and Hastings College, where she was a standout player. At Sandy Creek, Eighmey and her teammates had a 95-game winning streak, winning four state titles. Coach Eighmey is known for her intensity on the court, and her competitiveness. Carrie became Mrs. Eighmey in 2016 and husband Devin helps as the Lopers’ assistant coach.
Dancing experience: “Celebratory locker room dances with our team and a few wedding dances.”
Favorite dance style: Tap dance – “It’s similar to the heel-stomping I do on the sidelines.”
Least favorite dance style: Ballet

Words to describe what I look like when I’m dancing: “Athletic, very disciplined, lots of effort, but not always rhythmic or flashy.”
Favorite memory involving dancing: “Polka dancing with my parents at wedding dances in Edgar.”
Goal for participating in KDWTS: “To get outside of my comfort zone and do something a little different. It’s a great opportunity to become more involved in the community.”
Who is your toughest competition… the STAR to beat?: “I think any team with dance experience will present a challenge for me.”
Why should fans vote for you: “I’m super-competitive and I hate to lose.”
